Laser Treatment for Musculoskeletal Problems

Laser therapy is a great way to treat musculoskeletal problems, whether they are from an injury, post-surgery or as part of a rehabilitation program. Laser is also a valuable adjunctive therapy to other treatment options, such as orthotic therapy.

Applications and Benefits

This type of laser therapy has been used for many years to treat:

  • Sports injuries

  • Arthritic joints

  • Neuropathic pain syndromes

  • Back and neck pain

Many published scientific studies support its effectiveness. Treatment times are typically short, often taking 10-15 minutes. The patient feels no pain, and may feel a slight warmth in the area being treated. A treatment program may involve having laser therapy at least twice a week for a few sessions.

Our Laser Technologies

At FALL, we have two different lasers for musculoskeletal problems:

THOR Laser

  • Also known as Cold Laser Therapy or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

  • Technically termed Photobiomodulation (PBM Therapy)

  • Works by improving tissue repair and reducing pain and inflammation

  • Excellent for treating muscle trigger points without needles

Lightforce Laser

  • More powerful than the THOR laser

  • Uses a different frequency of laser light

Which Laser is Better?

The two lasers are not better or worse than each other - they are just different. Having options means that we can choose which one we think will be better in your own circumstances. Both lasers are safe and produce excellent outcomes.
