Coronavirus (COVID-19): what we're doing

We follow infection control standards to keep our clinic safe. If you're unwell with cold or flu symptoms, please call us to move your appointment rather than coming in.
The health and safety of our patients, our community and our team matters to us. COVID-19 and other respiratory infections such as colds and flu still circulate in the community, so here's how we keep our clinic safe and what we ask of you.
How we keep the clinic safe
At Foot Ankle Lower Limb, infection control is part of everyday podiatry. We follow infection control standards closely. We clean and disinfect treatment rooms and shared surfaces regularly, and we use sterilised instruments for treatments that need them. Hand sanitiser is available for patients throughout the clinic.
Our team stays home when they're unwell, just as we ask you to.
If you're unwell
If you have cold or flu-like symptoms, such as a fever, sore throat, cough or runny nose, or you've tested positive for COVID-19, please don't come into the clinic. Call us and we'll happily move your appointment to a time when you're well.
This follows current health advice to stay home while you're unwell.¹ If you do need to leave home while you're sick, wear a mask and practise good hygiene and hand washing.¹
Many of our patients are older or have health conditions such as diabetes, so this helps protect the people around you in the waiting room.
If you have an urgent foot problem while unwell
Some foot problems can't wait, such as a wound that isn't healing or signs of infection, especially if you have diabetes. If this applies to you, call us before coming in. We'll talk through your options and work out the safest way to look after you.
If you can't wait, or you're very unwell, see your GP or go to an emergency department. In an emergency, call triple zero (000).
Visiting us after COVID-19
If you've had COVID-19, healthdirect advises staying away from hospitals, aged care facilities and disability care settings for at least 7 days, or until your symptoms have gone.¹ If you've recently had COVID-19 and have a podiatry appointment, give us a call and we'll let you know whether to come in or reschedule.
Questions?
If you're not sure whether you should come in, call us and we'll help you decide. To make or change an appointment, contact us.
